Along with the stocking stitch, the garter stitch is one of the simplest, most common stitches in knitting. This foundational stitch produces a flat, reversible knitted fabric that won't roll up at the edges and is also known as the knit stitch.
Step 1
Count out your stitches and make sure all of your loops are pointing upwards.
Step 2
Pull the loops from the working yarn through the loops that are on your project from back to front.
Step 3
When you get to the end, pull the loops from the working yarn through the loops that are on your project from the front to the back.
Step 4
Keep alternating until you are done the required amount of rows.
